Microsoft To Sue Malvertisers Anew

Bill Gates is not letting black hat advertisers unscathed in ruining the online industry advertising sphere. Yesterday, Microsoft Corp sought civil charges against five online advertisers in Seattle, Washington court. Malvertising is described as the malicious intent of some advertisers to camouflage harmless ad codes to be able to install unwanted programs on any web visitors computer.
Microsoft Cracks Down Malvertising
The lawsuits Microsoft had tagged "Soft Solutions," "Direct Ad," "qiweroqw.com," "ITmeter Inc" and "ote2008.info" as malvertisers because they detected that these companies have installed malicious software or present deceptive advertisements to their client. The lawsuit claimed also that these companies sold "scareware" to "unsuspecting Internet users" as Microsoft General Counsel Tim Cranton explained. The people behind these companies are yet to be uncovered and that's why Microsoft is suing them in order to crack down the culprits involved. To know more, read the Reuters report.
